Nicole Kidman to do item song?

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Buzz is, it’s just a matter of Rs five crore that could get Hollywood hottie Nicole Kidman to dance to Bollywood’s tunes. According to sources, Nicole has finally green-lighted a proposal to do an item number in a Bollywood flick, but has asked for a huge appearance fee.

Nicole Kidman to do item song

Sources say that if filmmaker Rumi Jaffrey manages to give her the price that she’s asking, then she could well be the first Hollywood star to do an item number in an Indian film. Till now, it’s only been international popstars like Kylie Minogue and Tata Young who made appearances in Hindi films on their own songs.

“This item number was envisaged for the film Gali Gali Mein Chor Hain, which is being directed by Rumi Jaffrey, for which they wanted a Hollywood star. Nicole Kidman was contacted through her agents, and she immediately gave the nod. But she has quoted a hefty price, which is slightly higher than what Kylie had quoted for the number, Chiggy Wiggy that she sang in Blue,” says a source.

The film does not have an A-lister in it. With a starcast of Akshaye Khanna, Mugdha Godse and Shriya Saran in the lead, thebudget of the film is not enormous. Sources say that another Bollywood producer is also vying for Nicole’s date. “There is another Bollywood producer who wants those dates, but Nicole is giving preference to Akshaye’s film as they contacted her first,” the source adds.

Nicole is not new to Bollywood. One of her earlier brushes with Bollywood was when a song Chamma Chamma was used as a background song for her film Moulin Rouge. Later she shot an commercial with Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and Slumdog Millionaire child actress Rubina Ali. Kidman has always maintained that she would love to dance to Bollywood numbers in her earlier interviews.

“The appearance fee is not much since top Bollywood male actors chargeRs five crore for an appearance. Mallika (Sherawat) was also rumoured to have been paid three crore for an item number. So it was after much consideration that Nicole arrived at the figure since the item number concept is unheard of in Hollywood. She’s also ready to undergo weeks of training required for a Bollywood dance,” adds the source.

Posted in : Awards

(added few months ago!)

Nicole Kidman attended the 45th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville looking the very picture of glamour. From her sparkling beaded dress to her vintage diamond choker she was dazzling. And as if her silvery ensemble wasn't enough, she added a spectacular pair of false lashes to brighten her brilliant blue eyes.

To recreate Nicole's ultra flirty and feminine look, begin by using minimal makeup in neutral colors. Line eyes with a gunmetal gray or black eye pencil and smudge slightly to diffuse any harsh lines. Next, give a product like Urban Decay Urban Lashes a try. The 'Luxe' pair are partial lashes with a long flare shape, perfect for fluttering. Add a few dots of lash glue along the lash strips, gently place along the upper lash lines and hold for a few seconds. Finish with a few coats of black mascara

Nicole Kidman Bewitching in Black at 2011 CMA Awards

The night belonged to Nicole Kidman, who enthralled onlookers in a jet black column-style gown covered in beadwork at the 45th Country Music Awards November 10, 2011. Kidman topped her dress off with a Fred Leighton platinum diamond floral tiered choker necklace circa 1930's. While the column was perfect for Kidman's statuesque height, its black color contrasted well with her porcelain skin.

The vintage jewels were ideal for Nicole's classic features, which were highlighted by black liner, dewy pink cheeks, and pout. As for her red mane of hair, its color was toned down and worn in sleek, straight tresses which mirrored the shape of the gown. Completing the look was a pair of black heels, which helped her kick off the evening in style alongside hubby Keith Urban. We can't imagine anyone more glam than this Oscar winner!

Nicole Kidman Joins Biopic 'Our Wild Life'

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Despite having lost the ability to express emotion via the muscles of her face sometime around 2002, Nicole Kidman remains a relevant actress cast in (mostly) age-appropriate films like Rabbit Hole, for which she was nominated for an Oscar. Now she's eyeing the lead in an upcoming biopic called Our Wild Life, depicting the life and work of nature conservist Dame Daphne Sheldrick as she tended elephants in Kenya.

Nicole Kidman Joins Biopic 'Our Wild Life'

Who looks at the icy Kidman and thinks "There's a lady with a soft spot for animals?" Truly a testament to her acting skills. Anyway, the pic is said to have elements of classic Hollywood wildlife films like Born Free and Out Of Africa but with a feminist bent. As far as we can tell it's more in the vein of Gorillas In the Mist, starring Sigourney Weaver?, in that it follows a woman singlemindedly determined to protect elephants from war and poaching at the detriment of her own personal life.

Sheldrick's husband David, the founder and warden of a Kenyan national park, passed away in 1977, but she continued to work with elephants until her retirement. (She's 76.) Philip Noyce?, who directed Kidman in 1989's Dead Calm , is attached to direct Our Wild Life.

Nicole Kidman to star in ‘The Family Fang”

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Nicole Kidman to star in ‘The Family FangActress Nicole Kidman is to star in the adaptation of Kevin Wilson’s bestseller “The Family Fang”. After playing in the drama “Rabbit Hole” last year, produced by Blossom Films and Olympus Films, Kidman received an Oscar nomination for her part, that of a mother unable to get over the death of her only child in an accident car. In “The Family Fang”, Kidman will again play as a mother, but this time, having a complete opposite personality to that in “Rabbit Hole”.

Described as a successful combination between  “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and “The Royal Tenenbaums”, “The Family Fang” tells the story of artists Caleb and Camille Fang, who don’t care for anything but art, not even for their children Annie and Buster, referring to them as  “Child A” and “Child B”. As long as they could remember, brothers Annie and Buster unwillingly performed in their parents theatre plays, who are obsessed with art perfection. Since they left their home, the two brothers have faced some difficulties as grown-ups in society, because they were raised in a bizarre, disfunctional family.

After their lives start drifting, Annie and Buster have no other option but returning to their parents’ house in Tennessee. They discover that  Caleb and Camille are working on a last impressive performance. The conflicts between parents and children bring the Fangs to face the difficult decision about what’s ultimately more important: their family or their art.

Nicole Kidman, age 44, will play the part of Annie Fang, and will also be the producer of the movie, together with Leslie Urdang, Dean Vanech and Per Saari. The movie now needs a scriptwriter and a suitable director to bring  Kevin Wilson’s novel to the big screen.

Kidman now will appear in the thriller “The Paperboy”, directed by Lee Daniels, to be launched next year. The psychological thriller “Trespass“, in which Nicolas Cage also played,  has received extremely negative reviews from critics and was launched directly on  DVD in the US. Nicole Kidman will also star in the romantic tv drama “Hemingway & Gellhorn” by Philip Kaufman, and is currently filming for the thriller “Stoker” by Chan-wook Park.

Nicole Kidman Options, To Star In The Family Fang

Posted in : Gossips, Movies

(added few months ago!)

Nicole Kidman has got a ton of projects on her plate, but that hasn't stopped her from adding yet another bullet point to her to-do list. Deadline reports that Kidman and Rabbit Hole producer Per Saari have partnered with Olympus Films to pick up the screen rights to the bestselling book The Family Fang, by first-time novelist Kevin Wilson. Kidman will produce and star in the film.

Nicole Kidman Options, To Star In The Family Fang

Having hit shelves this past August, The Family Fang tells the story of a family of performance artists. Well, that's not entirely accurate. It's about a married couple of performance artists who constantly enlisted their children into their eccentric acts -- whether the kids were interested in participating or not. Family Fang finds the now-grown children returning home, and their parents attempting to draft them one last time for a mysterious final performance. Naturally, the kids aren't thrilled by this, since both of them are less than nostalgic towards their untraditional upbringing.

There are no details as to which character Kidman would play, but at age 44 she's probably too young to be playing the mother. She'll likely be taking up the role of the daughter. Without having read the book myself, the concept sounds intriguing. It will be interesting to see how the family's dynamic fills out as they cast the other three family members. It sounds like it could have a big of the same vibe as Tim Burton's Big Fish, only without the elements of magical realism.

Nicole Kidman Pairs Up With ‘Rabbit Hole’ Producing Team For ‘The Family Fang’

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Like most A-list talent in Hollywood, Nicole Kidman generally has more than a few movie options cooking at any given time (though we’ll never understand why she did “Trespass”). In addition, she’s got her own production shingle which is there to develop projects that have special appeal for her. It was Kidman’s Blossom Films that developed last year’s excellent “Rabbit Hole” in conjunction with Olympus Films, marking the first project out of the gate with the actress as the star (the company was also behind the Leighton Meester thing “Monte Carlo” but we’ll politely ignore that).

Nicole Kidman Pairs Up With ‘Rabbit Hole’ Producing Team For ‘The Family Fang’

Anyway, Blossom and Olympus are hoping to strike gold twice as Deadline reports they are pairing up again for “The Family Fang” as a vehicle for Kidman. They’ve acquired the rights to the bestselling Kevin Wilson novel that boasts a pretty fascinating premise. Described as a cross between “Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?” and “The Royal Tenenbaums,” the story centers on a pair of performance artists who managed to get their children involved in their oddball pieces when they were growing up. Years later, misfortune has brought the children back home where they learn their parents are planning one more and final performance piece. Check out the synopsis from Amazon below:

Mr. and Mrs. Fang called it art.

Their children called it mischief.

Performance artists Caleb and Camille Fang dedicated themselves to making great art. But when an artist’s work lies in subverting normality, it can be difficult to raise well-adjusted children. Just ask Buster and Annie Fang. For as long as they can remember, they starred (unwillingly) in their parents’ madcap pieces. But now that they are grown up, the chaos of their childhood has made it difficult to cope with life outside the fishbowl of their parents’ strange world.

When the lives they’ve built come crashing down, brother and sister have nowhere to go but home, where they discover that Caleb and Camille are planning one last performance–their magnum opus–whether the kids agree to participate or not. Soon, ambition breeds conflict, bringing the Fangs to face the difficult decision about what’s ultimately more important: their family or their art.

Filled with Kevin Wilson’s endless creativity, vibrant prose, sharp humor, and keen sense of the complex performances that unfold in the relationships of people who love one another, The Family Fang is a masterfully executed tale that is as bizarre as it is touching.

Kidman is no stranger to tales of familial discord or strife and this seems to fits very comfortably in her wheelhouse, though the performance artist angle adds a nice twist. It’s in early stages, with no writer or director attached yet, so it will be a while for this. But until then you’ll have plenty of Kidman coming at you soon as 2012 will see her starring in Lee Daniels’ crime drama “The Paperboy,” Park Chan-wook‘s thriller “Stoker” and the HBO movie “Hemingway & Gellhorn.”

Nicole Kidman: Newly Redesigned Website!

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Nicole Kidman’s official website has gotten a makeover! The new NicoleKidmanOfficial.com has more interactivity than ever - Nicole will be highlighting a film each month and posting content about them, and this month’s featured film is 2003’s Cold Mountain.

Nicole Kidman Newly Redesigned Website

A fan asked Nicole what the toughest part of filming the movie was. “Actually, the toughest part of making this movie was the conditions. We were filming in Romania and we needed to shoot summer going through fall and into winter. When we were shooting during the end of summer there was just so much rain we always had to stop and wait for the skies to clear. We were flooded out at one point for a lot of the beginning sequences,” Nicole said. “I mean it was torrential downpours. And poor Anthony [Minghella], the director, was beside himself because we had to cut scenes and change things because we just didn’t have sunshine.”
